Frizzy, unruly,
rough-textured hair. Not the type of styles that you see written
about in fashion magazines, but how would you overcome having the
hair from hell?
Teenager Sarah completely understand the problems with having hair
that nobody else wants.
All her life Sarah had been in numerous hairdressers who promised
to control her head of frizz, but none had managed to tame her hair.
“I’d only have to walk in the rain or the wind and it would be all
over the place. It was a total nightmare.
“While all my friends were styling their hair I had no alternative
but to plait it in one large braid,” said the 16-year-old from
Newington.
“
I would always have my hair in a tight plait, when my friends saw
it loose they would be amazed at how large it was.”
Not even the power of professional straightening irons would help
relieve some of Sarah’s pain of having huge hair.
“I would have it straightened with irons and it would look lovely,
but as soon as I stepped out in the wind or the rain it would be
back to its rough frizzy self. I really didn’t know what to do.
“It was a few weeks before my birthday that somebody point-out the
Yuko System review in the Deelights column. I began to wonder
whether it would work on my hair and went along to the salon for a
consultation.”
After popping along to the salon in Albion Street, Broadstairs, to
meet with owner Janina Sarah’s hope of having poker-straight hair
were brought to life.
“It was close to my birthday, so my parents and family said they
would pay for the treatment for me.
“The time seemed to whizz by, all I can remember is watching
Caroline and wondering where all this straight hair was coming
from!” “When it was finished I was speechless. It was straight and
conditioned and wonderful,” she said.
“My friends and family could not believe it was me! Everybody loved
my new look and loads of my friends at school have said they want it
done on their own hair.”
Although Sarah loved her new style she panicked about how it would
look once she stepped out of the salon. We all know how stunning
hair can look when it has been professional tamed and what it looks
like a few days later after shampooing.
“I really worried, I didn’t want to wash it or even brush it really.
The first time I had to wash it filled me with dread, but it came
out just as perfect as when I first had it done.
“I had it done a few weeks ago and I’ve been washing it,
brushing it and even been to the beach and nothing has changed it.”
“My hair is how I
